As a ministry with short-term teams and global impact, 2020 changed the ministry of Sports Ambassadors. Although a return to international travel remains hopeful, it is unclear when that may be possible. Due to this, SA has adopted a “wait and see” approach, all while looking for ways to minister closer to home.
“The Lord continues to work and opened up a tremendous opportunity here in the U.S.,” says Dave E, facilitator of OC Global Sports Team and SA member. “And it’s an opportunity you can pass along to any you believe may benefit from this.”
North American Sport Movement
In the past year, Dave has connected and partnered with people across America who are all about loving Jesus and making disciples in the world of sport, recreational activities, and fitness. It’s part of a sports ministry movement called North American Sports Movement (NASM).
For several years, NASM has been partnering together and conducting a sports ministry discipleship school called, “Multiply School.”
What is Multiply School?
It is a three-week, in-person school where emerging leaders grow in their relationship with the Lord, as well as develop in their capacity to make disciples of Jesus in the world of sport, play, and fitness back in their communities.
“By God’s grace, I have been working with them to plan and prepare for Multiply School again this year, despite COVID,” Dave says.
OC and Sport Ambassadors believe you may know of someone who might benefit from this. “Our team believes that you might know some emerging leaders from your churches, organizations, teams, and networks who love Jesus, love people, and are involved to some degree in sport, recreational activities, and fitness,” Dave says.
“Will you help us pass on the information about Multiply School to these people”
“We believe that when we invest into future leaders then it will not only increase their capacity, but it will have a huge impact on all our communities for the kingdom of God,” Dave says.
