God is on a mission to bring hope to a broken world, and he invites us to join in his work! Here’s the challenge: billions have never met a follower of Jesus. They have no idea how God can transform their lives. Courageous love is willing to do whatever it takes to bring good news of Jesus Christ to lost people—wherever they live, whatever their condition.
One Challenge is creatively partnering in ministry with the global body of Christ to reach people far from God. Some live in remote places, others are culturally distant from believers, and many are simply unengaged.
Inspired by Barnabas in the book of Acts, we help influencers and churches from many nations dynamically live out the gospel in word and deed, in their neighborhoods and around the world. These are pastors, business people, community leaders, and coaches—followers of Jesus, young and old, connected in fellowship and committed to multiply disciples into every sector of society.
In our 2014 Annual Review you’ll see love in action: in the Madagascar rainforest, among Asian lepers, through Romanian teamwork, and by caring for Latino families serving in North Africa.
Fueled by passionate prayer and strategic information, disciple-making communities are multiplying in difficult places. God’s people learning to love in ways that invite God’s transformation into homes, sporting events, and the workplace.
We are encouraged because the message of God’s love brings hope that can truly change the world! Last year OC launched exciting new ministries in creative-access countries and saw manifold people come to Christ, thousands of churches planted, scores of nations served. But we want to do more. Today OC has more requests for strategic global ministry than we have capacity. That’s why we believe the Lord has led us to initiate The Launch Project. This is a full effort to accelerate OC’s global ministry through an increase in workers, funding, and partners. Check out the following link to find out more: www.OneChallenge.org/TheLaunchProject.
If you want to join in the adventure or deepen your partnership in ministry with OC, there are many ways. One of the most strategic is to partner with us in prayer. To assist you we offer our 2015 Prayer Guide. In this booklet we have highlighted some of the ways you can pray for different teams and places in the world. We also offer a prayer request per day posted on this website under the Pray tab.
Prayer support is foundational to everything we do. Scripture says,
“Our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers, against the authorities,
against the powers of this dark world and
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Eph. 6:11)
Because this is true, you can advance the work of the kingdom in profound ways and never leave your house. Your prayers help further the kingdom of God around the world because they strengthen, encourage, protect, and carry those who are “on the front lines.” In times of great spiritual harvest and in times of spiritual drought, the prayers of partners and supporters keep mission workers fulfilling God’s work. They feel the prayers of their partners carrying them.
We challenge you to play a critical role and partner with us in prayer for mission workers overseas, in the United States, and at the U.S. Mobilization Center. We trust you will be inspired to worship as well as prayer as you read the 2014 Annual Review and use the 2015 Prayer Guide. We commend the many supporters who are partnering with One Challenge in over 90 nations in the world. Working together, we are making a difference!
