“I’ll never forget the first time I saw Lake Atitlán and volcano from the highway leading into the city,” says Steve Aldrich, with OC for 40 years. “But, Guatemala’s breath-taking beauty pales in comparison to her people. There have been many memorable events that have taken place with our Sepal team in Guatemala: The annual leadership conference for Latin America, the Sepal Team Internship program where our daughter Amy served as my assistant, and recently for Lifeworkx training.”
Steve just returned from Guatemala where he was able to do a team retreat with the OC Sepal teams there. Thanks to the pro-active leadership of Jaime Lopez, he created the time and space for both their city and rural teams to be together for one week.
“On this trip I took with me a young leader from the Memorial Bible Church in Washington. His name is Andrew, and he recently graduated from high school. I met Andrew when I spoke at his church in February for their Annual Missions Conference. I always give an open invitation to the congregation to join me in ministry. Andrew was the first young man to respond.
“Please stop right now and pray for our ministry with the Guatemala team. Pray for Andrew as he asks the Lord for guidance for his life calling. Pray for life transformation to take place as a result of going through Lifeworkx.”
Steve asked participants to post their stories on the website at www.lifeworkx.com. So as you plan for 2014/2015, consider Lifeworkx for your next team retreat!
