One Challenge workers from the OC Global Alliance (OCGA) are making headway in developing Church Planting Networks in Thailand. The journey with Thai leaders has been in the works for a couple of years.
“By faith, we have high hopes to see great change in Thailand. After over two years of waiting, we finally launched our church planting training in Thailand this past August. Our first actual Church Planting Network got rolling last September 15-16. The second training for this network was October 20-21,” says Dave, an OC worker who serves in the Philippines.
Encouragement at First Training
The first training saw great success.
“Attendance at the recent launch of the OCGA pilot Church Planting Training Network in Thailand went far beyond all expectations, with 285 leaders from 85 churches participating,” says David, an OC worker in Singapore. “By the end of the year, our partnership is planning for five strategically placed networks to be established, so that hundreds of leaders will be equipped and mobilized for church planting. We are more than thrilled and thankful for the way the Lord is moving the OCGA and the Thai church forward together.”
OC Global Alliance Leading the Way
Philippine Challenge, the OC Global Alliance center in the Philippines, is truly at the forefront of the training. “Two pairs of our best Filipino trainers will travel back and forth every month to lead these networks: Pastor James Cantoria and Pastor Arman Mercado, and Pastor Judah Cantoria and Pastor Joe Sanchez,” Dave says.
Thailand has been a tough field, with just 0.69 percent Christian. “We are all dreaming, hoping, and praying that we can reach 1 percent. Please join us. You can contribute through prayer!” Dave says.
Stay tuned for progress on this initiative. The OC Global Alliance is excited to be a part of the Lord’s work in this region.
